Free website score tool
Paste any URL and get a website audit in seconds. The scorer checks the technical and conversion signals that decide whether a small business site is costing its owner customers, and returns a mobile score, a desktop score, and a conversion score out of 100. No signup, no credit card.
What the scorer checks
Every run fetches the live page and reports on:
- SSL certificate. Whether the site loads over HTTPS, or shows visitors a "Not Secure" warning.
- Mobile responsiveness. Whether a viewport is declared for device width, the single most common failure on small business sites.
- Mobile and desktop performance. Separate scores, because a site can be fine on a laptop and unusable on a phone.
- Analytics. Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or another provider. No analytics means the owner has no idea what the site is doing.
- Schema markup. Structured data that affects how the business appears in search results.
- CMS platform. What the site is built on, which tells you what a rebuild would involve.
- Conversion signals. Whether a visitor can find a contact form, a visible phone number, or a contact page at all.
Running a website audit for a small business
A small business website audit usually has one of two purposes: an owner wants to know why the site is not producing enquiries, or a designer wants to show a prospect what is wrong before pitching a rebuild. The scorer serves both. It reports findings as specific failures rather than a single vague grade, so the output is something you can act on or send to someone else.
If you would rather work through a site by hand, the manual version is our 20-point website audit checklist, which covers security, mobile, performance, SEO, and conversion, and includes a 5-minute short form for qualifying a prospect quickly.
Auditing one site or many
This page scores one website at a time and is free to use. If you are looking for prospects rather than checking a site you already know about, LeadsByLocation runs the same scoring across every business in a city, so you can search a location and a business type and see which local businesses have failing sites or no website at all, with contact details attached.
